WeChat messenger will be used to pay for public transport fares

According to the Asia Times, from now on, residents of the Chinese metropolis Shenzhen will be able to pay for transport services using a specially developed blockchain application. The tax department of the city confirmed that the fare on buses, taxis, and railway transport, will be paid using WeChat messenger application. Naturally, all payment data will be stored in the blockchain.

Large Internet and transport companies supported the initiative of the tax department.

In 1980, Shenzhen was granted the status of the first special economic zone of China. There are Shenzhen Stock Exchange, as well as the headquarters of numerous international companies in the city. Today it is a high-tech city of the Middle Kingdom with a population of 20 million people. The new paying method can serve up to 170 thousand passengers per day.

Earlier, a similar initiative was implemented in Argentina. The same paying method is used in 37 cities in the country.

Over time, the new project called TON will receive functionality that will please not only the cryptocurrency community but also the entire world with convenient services that will facilitate our lives.
