Day 12:
Siem Reap, Cambodia was amazing! It’s less chaotic and busy compared to Bangkok. Quite sad that we were only here for two days. While I definitely had more fun here, I was a bit overwhelmed. The heat and constant crowds of tourist is exhausting. My goal for the next 5-6 weeks is to just take it easy. I have to remind myself that I won’t get to see everything and even if I try, I won’t enjoy it. Now someone message me because I have a 15hr layover in Malaysia before I fly to the Philippines! #alohasoutheastasia
Day 24:
Olongapo City, Philippines. My beautiful grandma, Violeta Racza. We counted our family tree just from our bloodline and in total my grandma has 8 kids, 29 grandkids and 20 great grandkids. 53 are still living in the Philippines. I haven’t shared much about my trip this past week because I took this opportunity to just spend the holidays with my family. I didn’t concern myself about life + work and just ate, slept, and caught up with people who raised me. I was born in the Philippines and moved to Hawaii when I was 7. Coming back as an adult and seeing what life is like definitely gave me a new perspective. It was a bit chaotic to do much reflecting but I couldn’t stop thinking about how different life would be like if we didn’t move to Hawaii. I’m in Vietnam now but I left the Philippines with a full heart, 5 lbs heavier from eating, and feeling grateful for everything. More on this once I get the chance to rest! I hope you all had a Happy Holidays. 2017 will be a great year! #alohasoutheastasia
Day 33:
It’s been great Vietnam! You’ve seriously captured my heart with your chaotic streets, delicious food, beautiful scenery, and vibrant culture. I’ll never forget being so fascinated with the streets of Hanoi or drinking the night away in Ha Long surrounded with good people, great tunes and waking up to such incredible views. Until next time. #alohasoutheastasia
Day 36
Chiang Mai is cool and all but I honestly keep thinking about being back in Hanoi. I haven’t really had the urge to wander around these past few days. Maybe it’s because I’m getting closer and closer to the end of my trip where I’m just winding down or I seriously want to be back in Vietnam. Heck I still have about a month left so hopefully I get over this funk. Hanoi — I miss your beautiful chaos! #alohasoutheastasia
Day 36
Today was a good day. I even got to catch the sunset while talking to a monk. Meet Sao Noi. A student here in Chiang Mai who originally came from Myanmar. #alohasoutheastasia
