@amylombard took this photo of Mia Arnone, 18, in #CentralPark. On a hot and humid summer day, @nytmag asked 23 reporters and 10 photographers to fan out across the Sheep Meadow. They talked to hundreds of people for a special, print-only section that appears in the newspaper today: #NYTSundayInThePark. “Luckily, I was privileged with an aunt who has lived here forever, who let me stay with her,” said Mia, who moved to NYC about a week before this photo was taken. “How has your Sunday been?” @nytmag asked. “One of those lazy Sundays: morning coffee; ‘I’ll Give You the Sun,’ by Jandy Nelson; the writing session; and the yoga in Central Park.” | We’ll be sharing more photos from a Sunday in @centralparknyc.

What impressed her about him? “Well, he kept staring at me in class,” she said. | We’ll be sharing one more photo from a Sunday in @centralparknyc.

Even with fans chanting del Potro’s name from the stands, #Djokovic played with such precision that his victory seemed all but assured. @nytchangster took this overhead photo of the champion celebrating after his win. The men’s title was a sharp contrast to the women’s final #USOpen match, which ended in chaos, accusations of sexism and a remarkable win by @naomiosakatennis, who defeated @serenawilliams to become the first Grand Slam champion from Japan. But #SerenaWilliams picked the wrong time to make a good point about issues of gender equality in tennis, our columnist Juliet Macur writes.
